The ABC Ballet School is based in St James' Church Hall, in Furzedown, South-West London. The school was started in 1998 by Alison Allen, thanks in a big part to the encouragement of a friend. The then vicar at St James' Church kindly gave her the use of the hall and his daughter as one of the first pupils.

Since then, the school has grown along with its pupils, many of whom began dancing as toddlers and have attended well into their teenage years.  In 2023, the school was taken over by Claudia Bagley, also Principal of the renowned Vacani School of Dance, who has continued the school's tradition of providing inspiring and inclusive dance classes to children and adults alike.

Our pupils have the opportunity to work towards exams with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and to participate in bi-annual shows. Our classes are carefully planned to cater to all ages and abilities and our aim is to nurture skills that provide benefits across many other areas of life, including musicality, coordination, confidence and wellbeing.   Above all, we focus on teaching these skills in a supportive environment, with an emphasis on the enjoyment and celebration of dance.  We pride ourselves on welcoming all to our school - a love of dance is all that is required!
