When I was growing up we either did horse-riding or ballet. I did ballet and my world changed! At the age of eleven I went to a ballet school where I boarded. It was every girl's dream, an old Rothschild mansion, The Arts Education School Tring Park. It was full of hidden staircases and secret rooms. Ballet became my life.

I still had two other ambitions: to swim the English Channel and to work with children! I haven't managed to swim the channel but I have now worked with children for thirty years. I am as passionate about my work now as I was when I started.

My career started as a dancer and I have had the opportunity to dance all over the world. After getting married I concentrated on teaching. It was having my own children that made me want to be a part of the local community and to contribute to it.

All classes are accompanied by professional live pianists.  Music is an integral part of each class, and we are fortunate enough to have 4 wonderful pianists accompanying our classes. Dance needs music to set the mood, give the beat and  motivate us to move.  I believe dance and music work together in unison. Miss Alison plays for us on Tuesdays, Miss Taline on Wednesdays, Mr Farhad on Thursdays & Saturdays and Mr Matthew on Saturdays.

Please note that all teachers and pianists are DBS checked for your peace of mind and your children's safety.

There is an opportunity for secondary school pupils attending the ABC ballet school to do community service at the school as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award (or simply to experience teaching first-hand).

The younger children love having the older students helping out too!
