Congratulations to Jessie Turner who has just been accepted at the Centre for Advanced training at the London School of Contemporary Dance from September! She is so excited and really pleased, as there was quite an extensive audition and interview process. Jessie, we are so proud of you! We hope that we will continue to see you and your smile at the ballet school next term alongside this training, but either way we are so excited to see what this opportunity may bring for yo
It's always sad saying goodbye to a pupil, especially to those who I have had the privilege of watching grow from a timid pre-schooler to confident secondary student. Benjamin is one such pupil. Despite the challenges that boys often face when doing ballet, I have delightedly welcomed a number of boys over the years. Benjamin has continued to come to ballet despite being teased. Since he joined the school he's taken many ballet exams and had a soloist role in the ballet shows
Well, we got through the year in one way or another! I feel privileged to have been able to continue to teach your wonderful children whether on zoom or in the hall. I feel I have grown as a teacher during this time and am grateful for that. We had great fun on Saturday pulling up the coloured squares, trusting they won't have to be put back, and throwing them in the bin together with my ballet shoes that were covered in the cleaning solution and to be frank, were quite smell
Congratulations to everyone who took their ballet exams in March - I'm pleased to announce a 100% pass rate! You all danced wonderfully and made me very proud. Also a big thank you to Miss Aimee for doing all of the beautiful ballerina buns all weekend! A special congratulations to all of my Primary and Standard 1 children, many of whom this was their first ever exam. You all shone and looked like you enjoyed the experience, and the examiner commented on your musicality so we
🎉CONGRATULATIONS🎉 to Ava for winning the Felicity Jaffe shield for Most Expressive Solo at the Cecchetti Choreographic Competition today! 🥳 Ava choreographed this dance herself and she performed it so beautifully. She has also been invited to perform her solo at our Annual Teacher's Conference in April - a very proud moment for me!
Congratulations Ava, you were outstanding today and I am so proud to be your teacher! Head to our Instagram @abcballetschool to see a snippet
What an amazing day of exams - a huge congratulations to all 46 pupils who took their exams! I am delighted with how the day went. I'm especially proud of Alexina and Cooper who went in as just a pair, as sadly another pupil was sick. The examiner was very happy, and said that all of my pupils had good rhythm! Well done for working so hard everyone! A huge thank you to Miss Aimee who made everyone look like real Ballerinas (from 9am - 7pm!), and also to my pianist Miss Alison
On March 8th, 11-year-old Ava underwent a two day audition at the Royal Ballet School. The Process The first round of auditions had over 650 applicants, with Ava one of only 60 that were taken through to the final round. Out of this 60, only 13 boys and 13 girls are offered places at the prestigious school. The two-day audition took place at White Lodge, and we are so proud of Ava for giving it her all. We have our fingers crossed for you! Ava's Year Ava has had a busy year i
